Some informational resources on the internet
Trident aims to promote access to justice, to assist professionals, clients and the public to become more knowledgeable about the laws and legal processes. Legal education for professionals and service recipients can be facilitated through distance and/or face-to-face education. If professionals have incomplete legal knowledge they may feel inadequate to support service recipients. Professionals can provide informational resources to assist service recipients to realize their nominal rights for access and equity in our law related systems. In particular, if practitioners who are geographically and temporally isolated are able to access legal education, they may become more professionally competent to intervene in crisis related situations.
Legal education can be of instrumental value in developing access to justice for citizens of the world. Professionals and service recipients often need to be supported to become aware of the laws and legal processes. The value of support such as counseling, conflict resolution, tutoring and supervision to prevent and to reduce crime, relapse and/or re-offending should not be underestimated by the not-for - profit, government and corporate sectors. Support systems may help to establish equality of access and outcome in legal education. The following informational resources provide examples of elements linked to legal education.
